The benefits of life insurance
in Luxembourg

Investment vehicles

Dedicated internal funds (FID)

Truly customised discretionary management, whether tailored or standardised (BIL SERENIO), for each investor and their immediate family. The manager may invest in a wide range of assets and sophisticated products (equities, bonds, investment funds, alternative products and funds, and in some cases private funds.

Specialised insurance funds (FAS)

Policyholders are in touch with an Investment Adviser but have the final say over the financial products or securities used, within the investment constraints stipulated in the policy. FAS also give policyholders the option of holding and bequeathing a particular securities portfolio or investing in specific assets without holding them under a management mandate (structured products, private equity, etc.).

General funds (or Euro funds)

General funds (or Euro funds) are managed by the insurance company. They offer capital protection throughout the investment period, regardless of how the financial markets fluctuate.

External funds

Policyholders select the investment funds underlying the insurance policy from a list approved by the insurance company (around 400, including our BIL Invest fund range).

Collective internal funds (FIC)

Collective Internal Funds are open to groups of investors who are not necessarily from the same family. They are managed according to a specific investment strategy / risk profile (e.g. secure, cautious, balanced). They are an ideal vehicle for the collective management of policies.

All investment vehicles comply with CAA circular 15/3.
