As spring slowly returns and nature awakens, BIL is proud to announce the continuation of the #BamChallenge, Luxembourgâs viral environmental initiative encouraging citizens, companies, and communities to plant trees, film the moment, and nominate others to keep the movement alive.
Launched in late 2025, the #BamChallenge has rapidly become a symbol of grassroots environmental engagement. It is a simple concept with meaningful impact: plant a tree, inspire others, and contribute to the countryâs green coverage, one gesture at a time.
At the end of 2025, Jeffrey Dentzer, BILâs CEO, took part in the challenge, demonstrating the Bankâs commitment to sustainability and collective responsibility. This act of leadership set the tone for what BIL stand for: taking concrete steps today to build a better tomorrow.
Now, as the weather turns milder and conditions once again become favourable for planting, we are excited to carry the challenge forward.
Creating Space for Sustainability
BILâs nominees did not have the space to plant their trees. Rather than letting this hinder participation, the challenge was transformed into an opportunity.
BIL offered nominees - Julie Becker (CEO Luxembourg Stock Exchange), Michel Knepper (President Comité Olympique et Sportif Luxembourgeois) and Laurent Loschetter (DSL Data Service Luxembourg) - the choice to plant their trees in the park surrounding its headquarters in Hollerich, in Luxembourg , a green space that offers the right environment for long-term growth. These trees have been placed in carefully selected locations to ensure they can thrive sustainably for years to come.
This initiative perfectly reflects the spirit of Building Tomorrow Together: supporting each other, fostering community values, and creating a positive impact that extends beyond our walls.
Keeping the Movement Growing
With spring offering the ideal window for planting, BIL invites everyone who has been nominated and those who simply feel inspired to join in and contribute to this growing forest of goodwill.
