Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) is pleased to announce the appointments of Melanie Babb as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Michaël Bonnier as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), both effective 24 July 2026, and subject to supervisory non-objection. These appointments reflect the Bank’s commitment to strengthening its leadership team and supporting its long-term strategic ambitions.

Melanie Babb joined BIL in July 2025 as Deputy Chief Financial Officer and succeeds Nico Picard, who will assume the role of Advisor to the CEO after a remarkable 37-year career with the Bank, including nine years as CFO.
A Franco-American finance executive with more than 25 years of international experience, Melanie brings a strong track record in finance leadership, transformation, business performance management and strategic execution. Before joining BIL, she served as Group Head of Finance at Quintet Private Bank and previously held senior leadership positions at Brown Brothers Harriman and Fidelity International. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Michaël Bonnier joined BIL in 2023 as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer and now assumes the role of Chief Compliance Officer. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial services and insurance sectors, including over 20 years in leadership and compliance positions, he is widely recognized for his expertise in regulatory compliance, risk management and AML/CFT. Prior to joining BIL, he served as Chief Compliance Officer at ING Luxembourg for six years and held several senior legal, compliance and business leadership roles throughout his career. A qualified lawyer, he holds a Master in Law from the Université Catholique de Louvain as well as professional certifications in Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering.

Both Mélanie Babb and Michaël Bonnier have made significant contributions to BIL’s development since joining the Bank. Their expertise, leadership and commitment to excellence will be instrumental as we continue to execute our strategy and deliver for our clients, employees and stakeholders. Their appointments reflect the strong talent we have within the Bank and ensure continuity in two critical functions. Melanie’s strategic financial acumen and international experience, combined with Michaël’s extensive compliance and regulatory expertise, will be invaluable. I look forward to working with them in their new roles and wish them every success.

These appointments further reinforce BIL’s Executive Committee and underline the Bank’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of governance and financial discipline while pursuing sustainable growth.
