BIL has a space dedicated to art at its headquarters, called Galerie Indépendance. This space, where we are delighted to organise regular exhibitions, reflects our commitment to culture and creativity. As active participants in the local cultural scene, we are proud to be able to support Luxembourg artists by exhibiting their work.
Since 1995, BIL had been hosting artists in the former gallery located inside the Indépendance branch, but its capacity did not allow for large-scale exhibitions. The headquarters refurbishment programme, launched in February 2005, aimed to create a high-end space for exhibitions and receptions, thereby forging a close link between the bank and the arts.
Since 10 April 1995, when Galerie Indépendance opened, this space has hosted more than 90 exhibitions, representing an average of around three exhibitions per year. The majority of the artists featured are Luxembourgish or have close ties to Luxembourg, highlighting the vitality of the local art scene. From time to time, international artists are included in the programme.
As we have just opened our Paris office to accelerate the development of our private banking business in France, our exhibition «The 3rd Day» builds an artistic bridge between Luxembourgish artist Arny Schmit and French artist Valentin van der Meulen.
