He also revisited BIL’s investment philosophy, and the broad range of solutions offered through Discretionary Portfolio Management, tailored mandates, Advisory services and investment funds. His intervention illustrated how BIL supports long-term investment strategies in a constantly evolving market environment.</p>
<p>The focus then shifted to structured products, where Vo Van Dung Delobel, Senior Sales Structurer in the CIB Financial Markets team, showcased BIL’s comprehensive capabilities. One of the highlights of his session was the presentation of the Beat the Benchmark AI Autocall, a product combining an AI driven basket, a potential annual coupon of 12% and a 40% capital buffer, demonstrating how BIL blends innovation with thoughtful risk management.</p>
<p>Life insurance then took centre stage as Vivian Gobert, Senior Business Development Manager, and Audrey Lesperoy, Head of Belgium & Wealth Planning, introduced BIL’s partnership ecosystem with Luxembourg’s leading insurers. They detailed how the Bank integrates its investment solutions into insurance structures through internal funds, specialised funds and collective vehicles.</p>
<p>Catherine Bastien, Head of Wealth Management Credit Structuring & Development then highlighted another essential building block: credit. She provided an overview of BIL’s credit solutions, ranging from Lombard loans to domestic and international mortgages and yacht financing. Her session demonstrated how financing can be used strategically — whether leveraging portfolios, acquiring property, or structuring specific projects — and how it complements investment and insurance solutions to form a coherent wealth strategy.</p>
<p>Finally, Frédéric Cassani, BIL Head of Corporate Finance, offered insight into how BIL accompanies entrepreneurs and family offices across all stages of their business life cycle. He discussed BIL’s expertise in Mergers & Acquisition advisory, debt and capital advisory, and structured financing. His intervention highlighted the Bank’s ability to deliver strategic, high impact solutions in private markets.</p>

The collaboration combined LIST’s expertise in AI testing using the LIST AI Sandbox with BIL’s real-world operational requirements.</p>
<p>The project delivered actionable insights under strict confidentiality conditions, with no access to customer conversations or data by LIST researchers, and all testing performed within BIL’s secure IT infrastructure.</p>
<p>Results showed that no significant discriminatory behaviour was identified. Some minor variations were observed, suggesting opportunities for refinement but without affecting the overall fairness of the system. The analysis of user experience revealed that frustration was primarily driven by situational constraints or unmet expectations, with the system’s tone and language remaining consistently professional and reassuring. In addition, adversarial testing confirmed strong safeguards, maintaining compliance and security across multiple scenarios and languages</p>
<h2>Enabling responsible AI with the LIST AI Sandbox</h2>
<p>A key enabler of the collaboration was the <a href="https://ai-sandbox.list.lu/" target="_blank">LIST AI Sandbox</a>, a platform specifically designed to test, validate, and improve the reliability of artificial intelligence in a controlled environment. The Sandbox allows companies, researchers, and public institutions to evaluate their AI models on real-world cases, while minimising technical, regulatory, and ethical risks. By leveraging this platform, the project was able to conduct comprehensive assessments without exposing sensitive systems or data, providing actionable insights while maintaining security and compliance.</p>
<h2>Toward a replicable framework for trustworthy AI</h2>
<p>Beyond the individual evaluation results, the collaboration contributes to a broader objective: establishing a replicable and structured approach to AI evaluation and governance.</p>
<p>The methodologies and tools developed during the project support a continuous learning cycle from assessment to reporting and improvement helping organisations better understand and manage the behaviour of AI systems over time.</p>
