Does my BIL Visa card (*) cover me if I test positive for COVID-19?

Someone who tests positive for COVID-19 is considered a sick person because they have contracted the virus. In this case, provided that the conditions for insurance cover indicated in the card policy are met, the amount paid for the travel booking using their card will be refunded by their insurance company.

The cardholder (people covered by the BIL VISA card insurance) is not covered when:

  • They have been in contact with someone who has the virus and are self-isolating, despite not actually having the virus themselves;
  • They are considered vulnerable because they have a particular condition or disease;
  • They are required to follow government or health restrictions preventing them from travelling (e.g. border closures or travel bans on entering certain countries)
