At BIL, Wero will soon be available through a dedicated Wero mobile app. The app will be available for download shortly, and we will inform you as soon as it is ready.

It is already available in Belgium, Germany and France, and will be launched in the Netherlands and Luxembourg in 2026, with additional countries to follow shortly.

It is supported by major European banks and financial institutions, with the aim of providing secure and easy payments throughout Europe.

Yes. You will continue to benefit from the same ease of use and high level of security you are accustomed to with Payconiq. Wero offers a high level of security and complies with European standards for security, regulatory compliance and data protection
Wero is committed to protecting your personal and financial information. Wero has been designed to meet the high security standards of the banking sector and European authorities, ensuring the highest level of security for your information and payments. Wero works closely with BIL to protect your data at every stage.
The Wero app is secured using the authentication methods built into your phone (PIN code, fingerprint or facial recognition), meaning that only you can access your Wero account from your device. For the highest level of protection, we recommend enabling biometric authentication (fingerprint or facial recognition), if supported by your phone, and always keeping both your Wero app and BILnet app updated to the latest version.
The Wero app is designed to be both secure and easy to use. It complies with banking security standards, and every transaction must be confirmed using your password or, more commonly, your phone's biometric security features.
Receiving a payment through Wero does not require any action on your part. Funds are automatically credited to your account. Stay vigilant: Wero will never ask you to click on a link or provide your security credentials or banking details in order to receive a payment.
However, it is always advisable to remain cautious when shopping or banking online. We therefore invite you to consult Wero's 10 Golden Rules to protect your money.
To set up your new app, simply open the Wero app and follow the instructions to connect your BIL account. During the process, you will be redirected to BILnet to verify your identity using LuxTrust, Luxembourg's secure digital identity solution.
You will need to link your BIL account in Wero to a unique mobile phone number or email address.
You can add as many supported bank accounts as you wish to the Wero app, including accounts held with different banks.
You can see which banks support Wero when selecting your bank within the app. Please note that you must use a different phone number or email address for each bank account linked to Wero.
