MT Traces Galaxy, 2020

The MüllerThal Traces on undyed cotton fabric are impressions of rock formations in the Müllerthal. They were made during episodes of deconfinement and reconfinement. These traces parallel the long, geological time and the infinitely shorter human time. This is why you see both the traces of sedimentation and erosion on the rock, but also the traces of the inscriptions of tourists and visitors who have perpetuated their passage over the filong decades. As a result, these Traces also bear witness to the net halt and resumption of European tourism in these natural valleys, while putting into perspective the different temporalities that intersect there.
