From a distance 3, 2010

The From a distance series consists of works made from Ikea furniture, the pieces being produced where a store of the chain is located. By diverting the assembly manual of the furniture to create sculptures by assembling several other pieces, the series is a critique of globalisation and mass consumption that allows us to acquire the same products everywhere in the world. The name of the series comes from this observation: the artist sends the hijacked instruction manual to the exhibition sites and the sculpture can then be assembled in situ with the parts coming from the local subsidiary of this global firm for an artistic creation "from a distance".
