Goodyear reCharge

Goodyear reCharge

Goodyear reCharge is a revolutionary self-healing concept tire that can adapt and change to meet individual mobility needs.

It is built around three pillars:

- At the heart of the reCharge concept is a refillable, biodegradable tread compound that can be refilled with individual capsules, radically simplifying the process of replacing your tires. Filled with a customized liquid compound, these capsules allow the tread to regenerate and the tire to adapt over time to the weather, road conditions, or simply the way you want to travel. Using artificial intelligence, a driver profile would be created around which the liquid compound would be customized, generating a mix of compounds tailored to each individual.

- The compound itself would be made from a biological material and reinforced with fibers inspired by one of the world's strongest natural materials: spider silk. It would therefore be both extremely durable and 100% biodegradable.

- In addition to radically simplifying the process of replacing your tires with refillable caps, the tread would be supported by a lightweight, non-pneumatic frame and a tall, narrow shape. This is a slim, robust, low-maintenance construction that would eliminate the need to maintain pressure or downtime due to punctures.

Goodyear is one of the world's largest tire companies. It employs about 72,000 people and manufactures its products in 55 facilities in 23 countries around the world.
